Eligibility Verification Tool

Medicare Eligibility Calculator

Answer a few simple questions to find out if you qualify for Medicare — and what your coverage options look like.

How This Tool Works

Not everyone automatically qualifies for Medicare at 65, and eligibility rules can vary based on several factors. This calculator guides you through the key criteria — age, citizenship or legal residency, and work history — to give you a clear picture of whether you currently qualify, when you will, and what parts of Medicare are available to you.

Answer Key Questions

Enter your age, citizenship or legal residency status, and whether you or your spouse have worked and paid Medicare taxes.

Get Your Result

The calculator determines your current Medicare eligibility and which parts — A, B, C, and D — you may enroll in.

Understand Your Path

If you're not yet eligible, see exactly when you will be and what steps you can take now to prepare.

Who Qualifies for Medicare?

  • Age 65 or older and a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident who has lived in the U.S. for at least 5 years
  • Worked at least 10 years (40 quarters) paying Medicare taxes to qualify for premium-free Part A
  • Those under 65 with certain disabilities who have received Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) for 24 months
  • Individuals of any age with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) or ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease)
  • Spouses of eligible workers may also qualify for Medicare coverage based on their partner's work record

Turning 65 soon? Medicare doesn't enroll you automatically in most cases. You'll need to sign up during your Initial Enrollment Period — a 7-month window around your 65th birthday. Our agents help you enroll correctly the first time, choosing the right combination of coverage for your health needs and budget.
